Groundworks in Stevenage & Hertfordshire – Done Right by ShellCo
From Soil to Slab — We Build the Base Right.

Shellco delivers complete groundworks packages for new builds, extensions, and structural installs — including site strip, levelling, foundation prep, and drainage. Every line dug, compacted, and set to spec.

We don’t just move muck. We plan, dig, level, and deliver the kind of base you can actually build on. Clean sites, correct levels, and a team that understands the job before the machine starts.

The ShellCo Way

Step 1: Site Strip & Clearance

We remove vegetation, debris, old foundations or obstructions and leave behind a clean, workable area.

Step 2: Reduced Dig & Level Control

We excavate to reduced dig levels, install pegs or lasers, and prep for footings, slabs, or insulation systems.

Step 3: Sub-Base & Compaction

MOT Type 1 or Type 3 compacted in layers with plate or roller — moisture levels and build-up thickness checked.

Step 4: Drainage & Oversite Prep

Foul and storm drainage installed to plans. DPM, insulation, ducting, and reinforcement mesh prepped before pour or beam.

Why Choose ShellCo for Groundworks?

We finish to spec. No sloping slabs, no rushed pours, no “that’ll do”.

Everything we dig, level, or lay is done knowing what’s going above it — we don’t leave guesswork for the next trade.

We build to spec, not guesswork. Levels, invert depths, duct runs — we follow the plan like it matters, because it does.

Fast start dates. Good access. No waiting around for missed skips or mystery operators.
